Brooklyn Beckham has furiously defended his wife Nicola Peltz after she became the target of cruel comments about her appearance, telling a social media follower that it was “disgraceful” to comment on a woman’s body.
The 27-year-old came to Nicola’s defence in the comments section of his latest Instagram cooking tutorial, after one follower questioned whether he responds to people who have expressed concern about the actress and claimed that she looked “sickly.”
The comment prompted an unusually direct response from Brooklyn, who did not hold back as he defended his wife of four years.
“Don’t ever talk about my wife. She’s absolutely beautiful and you should never comment on a woman’s body. It’s disgraceful,” he wrote.
The exchange quickly drew attention from Brooklyn’s followers, with the comment appearing beneath a video in which he attempted to prepare a homemade cottage pie.
While some users focused on Nicola’s appearance, others turned their attention to Brooklyn’s cooking skills, offering plenty of advice about how he could improve the dish.
The aspiring chef appeared to take the criticism in good humour, admitting that he was not a professional cook and explaining that he simply enjoys making and eating comfort food.
“I’m obviously not a professional chef haha. Just love cooking and eating. Love all the lovely comments,” Brooklyn wrote.
He later added: “Also if anyone has noticed I LOVE making easy comfort food. My favourite.”
The cottage pie tutorial quickly became a mixture of cooking advice, compliments and jokes, with several followers pointing out what they believed had gone wrong with the dish.
Some claimed the mince had not been drained properly, while others suggested Brooklyn should have allowed the meat to cool before adding the mashed potato.
One follower explained: “Mate this isn’t criticism it’s advice. The reason it’s sunk is because you need to wait for the mince to completely cool down before putting on your potato. Still a lovely dish though.”
Another advised him to remove excess liquid from the meat, writing: “You need to fry off all the liquid from your meat so you can brown it properly.”
Others suggested that the dish itself may have contributed to the result, with one follower saying Brooklyn’s mash appeared too wet and that a shallower baking dish might have worked better.
“I love when my meat pies are pure water,” another joked.
Brooklyn also attracted comments over his unusual approach to preparing the potatoes. Some viewers were surprised that he boiled them with the skin still on and removed it afterwards.
“I had to look away when he started doing the potatoes,” one person wrote, while another simply questioned why he had not peeled them beforehand.
Despite the criticism, plenty of people were supportive of Brooklyn’s efforts, praising him for sharing his cooking and encouraging him to continue experimenting in the kitchen.
“That looks delicious!!” one follower wrote, while another complimented his chopping skills.
The latest controversy comes after Brooklyn has increasingly used social media to showcase his interest in food and cooking. However, his culinary experiments have not always gone down well with viewers.
Earlier this month, fans were left baffled when an older clip resurfaced showing Brooklyn preparing pasta aboard a luxury yacht and using seawater to boil the pasta.
The video, originally shared the previous year, showed Brooklyn making a tomato pasta dish while also promoting his hot sauce brand, Cloud 23.
At one point, he dipped a saucepan into the sea to collect water before using it to cook the pasta.
The unusual cooking method prompted an immediate wave of jokes from viewers, with one person quipping: “Pasta water with a hint of burnt boat fuel please sir.”

Another joked that they did not have access to the sea in their garden and asked whether ordinary tap water would work instead.
Others poked fun at the simplicity of the dish, with one sarcastically asking Brooklyn whether he could demonstrate how to make a glass of water next.
The cooking clips have also inevitably invited comparisons with his father, David Beckham, who has long been known to have an interest in food.
David previously revealed that he completed a six-month culinary course while living in Italy during his football career.
“Funnily enough, when I lived in Italy, I took a six-month culinary course at a professional chef’s school and learnt to make real ragu and fresh pasta,” David told The Times in 2013.
He explained that he attended the course three times a week and became particularly determined to perfect risotto.
While Brooklyn may still have some way to go before matching his father’s culinary experience, he appears to be embracing the criticism and continuing to experiment.
Away from the kitchen, however, his latest social media exchange has once again highlighted how fiercely he has defended Nicola amid the intense public scrutiny surrounding their relationship.
Brooklyn and Nicola married in April 2022 after a lavish three-day celebration at the Peltz family’s estate in Palm Beach, Florida, attended by around 500 guests.
The wedding was followed by years of speculation about tensions between Nicola and members of Brooklyn’s family, particularly his mother Victoria Beckham.
The couple subsequently renewed their vows in August 2025, but this time the Beckham family was notably absent.
Brooklyn has since indicated that the second ceremony holds far happier memories for the couple and that they intend to regard it as their main anniversary going forward.
Sources have claimed that the pair no longer look back fondly on their first wedding, with one saying Nicola had been left in tears and that the occasion carried “bad memories.”
Their second celebration, by contrast, was described as a chance to create happier memories away from the tensions that had surrounded the original ceremony.
The decision came after Brooklyn made a series of extraordinary allegations about his family earlier this year, describing the anxiety and embarrassment he said he experienced around his wedding.
In a lengthy statement, he claimed that his mother had called him “evil” during the wedding planning process after he and Nicola chose to seat family members together.
He also alleged that Victoria intervened in his planned first dance with Nicola at the wedding reception.
According to Brooklyn, the couple had planned to dance together to a romantic song, but he claimed that singer Marc Anthony instead called him onto the stage where Victoria was waiting.
Brooklyn described the moment as deeply uncomfortable and humiliating.
He later explained that renewing their vows had been important because he and Nicola wanted to replace difficult memories with happier ones.
“We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment,” he said.
The claims intensified the already publicised rift between Brooklyn and his parents, with the eldest Beckham son making clear that his loyalty lies firmly with Nicola.
His latest defence of his wife therefore fits into a much larger pattern, as Brooklyn continues to reject criticism directed towards her while openly supporting their marriage.
Nicola, meanwhile, has generally maintained a lower profile during the latest social media controversies, although she has continued to share glimpses of her life with Brooklyn.
The couple have repeatedly presented themselves as united, despite the speculation surrounding their relationship with the wider Beckham family.
For now, Brooklyn appears equally determined to defend Nicola from comments about her appearance as he is to continue pursuing his passion for cooking.
His cottage pie may have received mixed reviews, but his message to those commenting on his wife’s body was considerably clearer.
Whatever people think of his cooking, Brooklyn made it clear that there is one subject he does not intend to treat as entertainment: criticism of Nicola’s appearance.
And judging by his blunt response, he appears ready to push back whenever he believes comments about his wife have crossed the line.
