“My husband told me on Friday that they were supposed to fly on Friday and that something was wrong with the plane,” she said in an interview with KTLA. She later added that she was not drawing conclusions about the cause of the crash but wanted to share what her husband had experienced in the days leading up to it.

He emphasized that investigators will avoid drawing early conclusions and instead concentrate on physical evidence, flight data and maintenance logs recovered from the crash site at Edwards Air Force Base, a facility known for testing experimental and upgraded aircraft under controlled conditions.

Edwards has long been regarded as one of the most important aviation test centers in the United States military system. Its vast desert runways have supported everything from fighter jet development to space shuttle landings, earning it a reputation as a place where “if it flies, it gets tested.”
