Jesy Nelson has made her relationship with Ben Davies Instagram official, giving fans their first proper glimpse of the man who has recently become a significant part of her life.
The former Little Mix star, 35, shared a sweet photograph showing Ben behind the wheel of a Range Rover while holding her hand, marking a major step in their romance after weeks of keeping him largely out of the spotlight.
Ben, who works as a landscape gardener, was dressed entirely in black in the intimate image, with his tattooed arms clearly visible as Jesy reached across to hold his hand.
Although Jesy did not show her own face in the photograph, the post represented the first time Ben’s face had appeared on her Instagram page.
The singer had previously offered followers only fleeting clues about her new romance, including a photograph last month that showed the tattooed arm of a mystery man while the pair enjoyed drinks together.
Now, however, Jesy appears to have decided that the relationship is ready for a more public reveal.
The couple’s latest outing comes after they were reportedly involved in an awkward incident during a recent night out, when they were allegedly asked to leave a London bar following a heated confrontation.
Despite the drama surrounding that evening, Jesy and Ben appeared completely loved-up during their latest date, with the pair reportedly unable to keep their hands off each other as they spent time together in Soho.
Their relationship comes during an exceptionally difficult period for Jesy, who has been balancing her new romance with motherhood and an increasingly prominent campaign to raise awareness of Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1.
Jesy shares 15-month-old twin daughters Ocean and Story with her former partner Zion Foster, from whom she split earlier this year.
The former couple had been engaged before their relationship came to an end, shortly after they revealed that their daughters had been diagnosed with the rare muscle-wasting condition.
The devastating diagnosis placed enormous pressure on the family, and Jesy has since spoken openly about how the experience affected her relationship with Zion.
In her recent Amazon Prime documentary, the singer admitted that the circumstances surrounding their daughters’ health had changed the dynamic between them and ultimately contributed to their decision to separate.
She explained that both she and Zion were dealing with an extraordinarily traumatic situation, but were approaching it in different ways.
“It’s a very traumatic thing that we’ve both been through,” Jesy said.
She acknowledged that such circumstances could either bring a couple closer together or pull them apart, adding that she believed the experience had unfortunately done the latter for her and Zion.
Jesy stressed, however, that there was no bitterness between them and that their daughters remained the absolute priority.
“We still get on, there’s not bad feeling,” she said.
“My main priority is them. I just want to be the best mum with the best energy and positivity possible.”
The singer also described how difficult life had become inside their family home as both parents struggled to process what was happening.
“The house was not like that when we were together. We’re both dealing with this situation completely differently, and together we were clashing,” she explained.
“I decided we would be better off apart. It’s hard. It’s just me and mum now.”
Since the split, Jesy has thrown herself into supporting her daughters while also campaigning for greater awareness and earlier testing for SMA.
Ocean and Story were diagnosed with SMA Type 1 in January, with Jesy subsequently using her public platform to highlight the importance of newborn screening.
The condition can severely affect babies’ muscles, leaving them unable to sit, crawl or walk. In its most severe forms, it can also affect a child’s ability to breathe or swallow.
However, early diagnosis and treatment can significantly improve outcomes, which is why Jesy has become such a passionate advocate for testing.
Newborn screening for SMA involves a simple heel-prick blood test shortly after birth.
For Jesy, the campaign has become deeply personal, and she has repeatedly spoken about wanting her daughters’ experience to create something positive for other families.
She has said she feels proud that their story has contributed to conversations about changing the way babies are tested and diagnosed.
“I feel super proud that my girls’ story has been a part of change,” she said.
The singer has also described their journey as something she hopes her daughters will eventually understand as they grow older.
“I’ve always said I want this to be their little superpower,” she added.
Her campaigning has taken Jesy all the way to Parliament, where she fought for wider access to newborn SMA screening.
However, the initial decision not to roll out testing across the whole of the UK left her devastated.
Speaking after the decision, Jesy admitted she had been “absolutely fuming” and felt deeply let down.
“I’m going to be completely honest, I was absolutely fuming. I feel so let down,” she told reporters.
She later reflected on the emotional experience, explaining that she had entered the campaign with enormous hope that her efforts could lead to meaningful change.
“I’m such a big manifester. I really believe if you put your mind to it and you put it out there you can make it happen,” she said.
“But I think obviously when I went to Parliament and they said that they weren’t going to roll it out across the whole UK, I was devastated. I was absolutely devastated.”
Against that backdrop, Jesy’s romance with Ben has offered another chapter in her personal life following an extraordinarily challenging year.
The relationship initially attracted attention after the pair were spotted together, with reports later identifying Ben as the singer’s new boyfriend.
Jesy eventually offered fans their first glimpse of him earlier this month, when she posted an Instagram Stories image from a rooftop garden.
Although Ben’s face was not visible, his distinctive tattooed arm could be seen at the edge of the photograph, prompting followers to speculate about the mystery man accompanying her.
The latest post goes considerably further.
By showing Ben’s face and sharing a deliberately intimate image of the pair holding hands, Jesy appears to have moved beyond teasing her relationship and into openly celebrating it.
Their romance has not been entirely free of controversy, however.
Earlier this month, reports emerged that one of their dates was disrupted after they were allegedly asked to leave Madison in St Paul’s following an altercation.
The evening had reportedly begun quietly, with Jesy and Ben visiting My Old Dutch Pancake House before heading to the bar.
According to reports, a confrontation later broke out involving a larger group of people.
An insider claimed Ben had been “getting in people’s faces”, while another description suggested he was acting as though he wanted others to know who he was.
Jesy was reportedly attempting to calm the situation, but the disagreement allegedly became heated before the couple were asked to leave.
The Daily Mail contacted Jesy’s representatives for comment at the time.
Despite the unwanted attention, the incident appears not to have affected the couple’s relationship, with their latest outing suggesting they remain firmly together.
For Jesy, the public declaration also comes after months in which almost every aspect of her private life has been under intense scrutiny.
Her split from Zion, the health battle involving her daughters and her campaign for SMA awareness have all placed her personal circumstances firmly in the public eye.
Yet the decision to introduce Ben publicly appears to have been made on her own terms.
Rather than making a formal announcement, Jesy simply allowed the photograph to speak for itself.
The understated image of their hands intertwined in the car offered a stark contrast to the dramatic circumstances that have surrounded much of her life recently.
It also follows Ben’s increasing presence in her social media posts, suggesting the relationship has gradually moved from something carefully protected to a romance Jesy is now comfortable sharing with her followers.
With fans already reacting enthusiastically to glimpses of the couple, the Instagram post is likely to fuel even greater interest in their relationship.
For now, however, Jesy appears focused on enjoying the happier moments while continuing to put her daughters first.
After a year marked by a painful separation, an emotionally exhausting health battle and a campaign that has taken her into the heart of Westminster, the singer seems determined to embrace a new chapter.
And with Ben Davies now officially stepping into the spotlight beside her, Jesy’s latest post makes one thing clear: she is no longer hiding the romance that has quietly developed behind the scenes.
