A Long Island community is reeling after a 30-year-old mother of three was found gravely injured inside a vehicle at a Suffolk County gas station early Saturday morning, and investigators quickly moved to arrest a man now charged with her murder.

Police say Juliann Bachmann, a Bellport resident described by friends and relatives as a devoted mother and caring friend, was discovered unresponsive in a vehicle parked at a Speedway gas station in Yaphank just before sunrise. Authorities announced that roughly 12 hours after the discovery, detectives arrested 40-year-old Michael McHenry, also of Bellport, and charged him with second-degree murder in connection with Bachmann’s death.
