Pals lift the lid on the Monaco weekend that left Magui Corceiro shocked – and why Lando Norris’ relationship is hanging by a thread

FOR most Formula One drivers, Monaco is the crown jewel of the season. For Lando Norris, it may have become something else entirely.

While the McLaren star spent the weekend surrounded by superyachts, celebrities and some very glamorous women, those closest to his on-off girlfriend Magui Corceiro say the fallout behind the scenes has been more dramatic than anything that happened on track.

And now, pals tell The Sun that the pair are once again no longer together   – and reveal the part Monaco played in their latest breakup.

It is a remarkable position for one of Formula One’s most influential couples to find themselves in.

Only a matter of months ago, Lando and Magui were rebuilding their relationship after taking another break earlier this year.

Those close to the pair said they were once again trying to make things work, with Lando making trips to Lisbon and both sides appearing willing to compromise after many ups and downs.

One source told The Sun: “Magui was genuinely shocked by some of the photographs and stories coming out of Monaco. It’s not about one girl or one specific incident, it’s the overall picture.

“They had been trying to work things out, and then suddenly she was seeing endless headlines, endless videos and speculation all over social media.

They added: “People have become so used to them breaking up and getting back together that nobody ever takes it seriously anymore, but this time feels different.

“There is a lack of trust there now, and there is a lot of hurt there. The relationship has always been turbulent, but right now they aren’t together, and nobody around them can confidently tell you what happens next.”

Few relationships in Formula One have been quite as difficult to keep up with as Lando and Magui’s. Over the past two years, the pair have repeatedly split, reconciled and attempted fresh starts, leaving even those closest to them struggling to know whether they were together or apart at any given moment.

At times, they have looked completely inseparable. At others, they have appeared to be heading in opposite directions. Friends insist the biggest issue has never been a lack of feelings but instead a lack of stability.

One insider explained: “There has always been a lot of affection between them, and that’s why they keep finding their way back to each other. But relationships need consistency, and that’s the thing they have never really managed to achieve.

“Every time they seem settled, something happens that throws everything up in the air again.”

The cruel irony is that just as their relationship appeared to be moving in the right direction, Monaco arrived. If there is one place capable of testing even the strongest relationship, it is Formula One’s most glamorous stop on the calendar.

For one weekend every year, the tiny principality becomes a floating playground for the rich and famous, with celebrities, influencers and athletes descending on the Riviera for four days of non-stop parties, yacht hopping and late-night celebrations.

This year, Lando appeared determined to embrace every second of it.

Those who saw him during the Grand Prix weekend say he was a constant presence across Monaco’s social scene, bouncing between luxury yachts, exclusive dinners and celebrity-packed parties long after the racing had finished.

One Formula One insider said: “Lando was determined to make the most of every free moment he had. Formula One is such an intense environment, and these drivers spend most of the year under enormous pressure, so when Monaco comes around, there is always a temptation to let your hair down a little bit.

“Last season was all about proving himself at the very top of the sport and the pressure that came with that. This year feels slightly different. He still takes racing seriously, but people around him have definitely noticed he seems more willing to enjoy the lifestyle that comes with being one of Formula One’s richest stars.”

Among the women generating the most attention was American influencer Alix Earle, who spent much of the weekend in Monaco after arriving as a guest of wellness brand Alo.

The TikTok superstar, who boasts millions of followers, was repeatedly photographed in the same social circles as Lando throughout the weekend.

The speculation intensified further when videos emerged showing the pair partying at celebrity hotspot La Guérite in Cannes, where they spent hours among a larger group of friends as bottle service flowed late into the evening.

For Formula One fans, the optics were impossible to ignore.

One fan asked the question we were all thinking: “Where is Magui?”

And while what happened between Lando and Alix is speculation, insiders say the public reaction alone was enough to create problems.

The source added: “It’s not really about Alix specifically. The issue is that Magui suddenly found herself dealing with endless questions from people asking what was going on. Every photograph became a story. When you’re already trying to rebuild trust in a relationship, that kind of attention is the last thing you need.”

Unfortunately for Magui, Alix was only the beginning. Former Hollyoaks actress Wallis Day also found herself linked to Lando after photographs emerged showing them deep in conversation aboard a luxury yacht during the weekend. Meanwhile, influencer Pietra Pilao once again became the subject of intense chatter after appearing around Lando’s inner circle throughout Monaco.

Collectively, these incidents created a narrative that became impossible to ignore. And according to those closest to the couple, that narrative is exactly what has left their relationship hanging by a thread.

Our source said: “Their relationship already had cracks in it, so Monaco didn’t create all the problems but it did hugely magnify them.”

That became even more obvious when eagle-eyed fans noticed Magui had unfollowed Alix on Instagram following the weekend’s headlines.

For many viewers, it was viewed as the clearest indication yet that the situation had become personal. The most telling thing, however, is that nobody around Lando and Magui is pretending to know where things go from here.

Friends have watched them split up and reconcile so many times that ruling out another reunion would be foolish. Equally, there is a growing acceptance that Monaco may have exposed deeper issues which can no longer be brushed aside.

Our insider added: “There is still affection there. Nobody is denying that. But they’ve spent years going round in circles and Monaco has only complicated an already fragile situation. Maybe they find their way back to each other again. Maybe they don’t. The honest answer is that nobody knows anymore.”
