F1 star George Russell proposed to Carmen Montero Mundt with rare £750,000 ten-carat yellow diamond ring
GEORGE RUSSELL splashed out three quarters of a million pounds on the ring he used to propose to Carmen Montero Mundt, it’s claimed.
Formula One star Russell and Spanish influencer Carmen announced their engagement on Sunday in a shared social media post.
The couple, both 28, shared a ring emoji and silver heart, alongside a selection of four lovely pictures together.
Carmen was all smiles as she showed off the beautiful ring the Brit placed on her finger.

A picture of the gold ring on her hand was shared as one of the snaps in the post, with its beautiful features on full display.
According to Arissa Michos, marketing and brand director at Class A Jewellers, the stunning natural oval yellow diamond has a potential value of around £750,000 ($1m) and is between eight and 10 carats.
She told Marie Claire: “Yellow diamonds are rarer and are graded on a different scale based on the intensity of the yellow colour.
“This looks like a Fancy Vivid Yellow, as it’s a very rich colour. Yellow diamonds are more expensive because they are rarer than white diamonds.
“Depending on the intensity of the colour, they become rarer and therefore more expensive.”
The picture where Carmen showed off the ring in all its grandeur also showed Russell smiling in the background while wearing a smart white shirt under a gorgeous sunset and candlelit dinner table.
Russell and Carmen met in London in 2020 after being introduced to one another by a mutual friend when they were both 22.
Speaking to Tatler, Carmen recalled: “It was a Sunday night, and my friend was like, ‘I’m dating this guy and he wants to bring his flatmate for a drink.
“Would you mind coming with us? Because I think it’s a little bit awkward…’ I thought he was really funny.”
Russell later asked Carmen’s friend for her phone number and invited her to his home in White City, where he offered to cook for her.
Mercedes star Russell exclusively told SunSport in a 2025 interview that Carmen actually had no idea who he was.
Russell revealed: “My mate couldn’t make it, so I thought I’ll swing along to see how it goes.
“She told me she’s from the south of Spain and she wouldn’t ever expect someone to know the small place she’s from. I knew exactly where she was from, so it was quite coincidental.”
Fans loved news of the engagement, with many rushing to congratulate them.
Carmen, who has 914,000 followers on Instagram, is now a regular sight in the F1 paddock supporting Russell.
They are the latest F1 power couple to get engaged.
Ferrari‘s Charles Leclerc got married to Alexandra Saint Mleux in a lavish ceremony earlier this year, having announced their engagement late last year.
In February Carmen revealed she underwent emergency surgery after suffering with appendicitis.
She updated fans on her condition after suffering a spell of vomiting which forced her to postpone a project she was working on to focus on her health.
Russell was seen alongside her later on as she posted a snap of herself smiling from a hospital bed, calling him “the best company”.
The seven-time Grand Prix winner sits third in the F1 standings this season, 59 points behind teenage team-mate Kimi Antonelli and nine behind seven-time world champion and Ferrari ace Lewis Hamilton.
Hamilton, 40, has found some love of his own this year in the form of megastar Kim Kardashian.
