FORMULA ONE drivers will get behind the wheel of LEGO KARTS at the British Grand Prix, but Lewis Hamilton may not be among them. Lego revealed on Thursday that 22 of the fastest racers on the planet would be driving specially made karts made out of Lego bricks.

I let Charles [Leclerc] drive last time, and it was just hilarious watching everyone crashing into each other.”

The 41-year-old then cast doubt on whether he would even be behind the wheel of the bespoke Lego creations. He added: “I don’t know whether or not I’ll be in the Lego car this year.”

Meanwhile, reigning World Champion Lando Norris was far more excited but agreed the 600 horsepower would make it more interesting. The McLaren driver said: “I’m pretty excited for it, actually. I think if they had another 600 horsepower, then it would be interesting.

“If it’s like Miami was, then I think whoever can make it back to the start line will be a winner already. I think it’s nice to do something different every now and then. So as long as it’s safe and we all behave then we should all be in for a jolly good ride.”
